Privacy Policy

Hirelihood (“we”, “us”) is a career-intelligence service for engineers, operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], established in [JURISDICTION]. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you have over it. For any privacy question or request, contact us at privacy@hirelihood.com.

We collect only what we need to score roles for you and run the service:

• Account & identity — your email address and authentication identifier (via Clerk). You choose whether to sign in.
• Profile you provide — job title, current company, bio, links (LinkedIn, GitHub, portfolio), skills, certifications, seniority and years of experience, spoken languages, salary expectation, country of residence, timezone, visa-sponsorship needs, and your company/role/industry preferences. This is the input to your personal match scores.
• Activity & outcomes — saved jobs and companies, your application pipeline (application status, outcomes, and the match score at the time you applied), job alerts, and notifications. Outcome data helps calibrate the accuracy of your match scores.
• Billing — if you buy a Search Pass, a payment-provider customer identifier and your pass status and expiry date. We do not store your card details; Stripe is the seller of record and processes payments directly, and your purchase appears as “Sold through Link”.
• Product analytics — anonymised usage events (via PostHog) to understand how the product is used and improve it. Analytics are hosted in the EU, input fields are masked, and automatic event capture is disabled.

• To compute your personalised interview-likelihood and match scores against roles in our index.
• To generate the AI features you request (application drafts, interview prep, outcome coaching, offer evaluation, and similar), grounded in your profile and the specific role.
• To send you the emails you have enabled — match alerts and the weekly digest. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email or in your profile.
• To operate billing and track whether your Search Pass is active.
• To maintain, secure, and improve the service.

Where GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (improving and securing the product), and consent (marketing emails and analytics, which you can withdraw at any time).

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the processors that run the service:

• Clerk — authentication and account management.
• Stripe — payments, through Stripe Managed Payments. Stripe is the merchant of record for the Search Pass, meaning it is the seller and handles billing and EU VAT. Checkout is presented under the Link brand, so your purchase shows as “Sold through Link” and your statement reads LINK.COM*.
• PostHog — product analytics (EU-hosted).
• Resend — transactional and newsletter email delivery.
• AI model providers, to generate the Pro features you request. We send only the context needed for that request; we do not use your data to train third-party models.

We keep your profile and activity data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to erase your data, we remove it, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal or accounting obligations (for example, billing records).

Subject to applicable law, you may:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data — most of it is editable directly in your profile.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Export your data in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent for analytics or marketing.

To exercise any of these, contact privacy@hirelihood.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

We may update this policy as the service evolves. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you.
